Swamps.  Texts selected and introduced by Bridget Crone

Wednesday 16 March at 7pm

We will have read and be discussing: 'Molecular Unconscious' from Anti Oedipus, Deleuze and Guattari (1972)         text and 'Meat (Or How to Kill Oedipus in Cyberspace)', Nick Land (1995) text.

In this reading group, Bridget will return to two texts that have provided an important underpinning for her project “Swamps and Stages”, which explores the production and entropies of the body within neo-liberalism, and the possibilities for some kind of resistance to the immersive, co-optive impetus of the “swamp”.

Alex Williams recently described Land’s work as taking Deleuze and Guattari’s 1972 book, Anti Oedipus (from which this extract is taken) to “new heights of sick perversity”, and in this session we will discuss the two texts in relation in order to explore the swampy nature of Land's, as well as Deleuze and Guattari’s, project.
